Advantages and disadvantages of freezer



Upright and Chest freezers

In case of Chest Freezers, the advantages are as follows. They are energy efficient, less expensive, maintains cold better during a power outage and makes an excellent secondary freezer. The disadvantages are that the interior may not be lighted and as new packages are added it is easy to lose contents. In case of Upright Freezers, the advantages are as follows. It is very easy to view what is present and there is a lighted interior and separate shelves easy organization. The disadvantages are that they are expensive and less energy efficient as more warm air replaces the cold air after opening the door. In case of Upright freezers, it is possible to organize the contents. The chest freezer is difficult to organize and so maintaining a freezer inventory is crucial. The goods can easily drift to the bottom and so unless it is known that the material is present it is difficult to locate it. But these freezers are more efficient and allow for more food per cubic foot.

Advantages

It is possible to save money by buying on sale, in bulk and in the proper season. Various fresh vegetables, fruits and meat if precisely packaged and prepared are as good in the frozen state as they are fresh. If it is possible to support the nearby farmer's markets this will decrease the shipping cost and save gas. It is possible to store the individual garden produce. The family favorites can be prepared in large quantity and meal size portions can be frozen for time and cost savings.

Other advantages of freezers

Some freezers use environment friendly materials and so they cater to the environmental protection requirements. The evaporator is located on the backside wall and hence the inside is smooth and dirt does not settle on it. It does not produce noise while working. The location of door plates and shelves may be regulated. For vegetables and fruits, transparent drawers are optimum. Due to perfect humidity, these materials do not loose taste and nutritional features and stay fresh for a long time. Tempered glass can bear weight upto 25 kg and are very difficult to break and easy to clean.
