Innotech Pet Fencing System

Dogs like to roam and move about. Innotech keeps them at home with a full line of Containment systems that set the industry standard for safe, effective pet containment. Many people have behavioral and training questions concerning their dogs. Innotech offers fast easy no training way to solve your pet’s problem. Professionals design Innotech products. Since each situation is different it has a wide range of appropriate products. For keeping dog safe in Yard Innotech has developed in-ground-pet-fencing system.

There are 3 parts to an In-ground Pet Fencing system:

1. Transmitter: This plugs into a standard outlet and emits a radio signal.

2. The Wire: Waterproof wire that you bury and connect to the transmitter that makes a boundary to contain your dog.

3. The Collar Receiver: The receiver is fixed on pet’s collar. The transmitter emits a radio signal that travels through the wire. The receiver on pet’s collar picks up the radio signal and alerts the dog as she/ he nears the boundary (buried wire). If the pet continues toward the boundary wire, he/she will receive a correction from the radio signal.

Collar:
This collar is small, sleek and waterproof. Innotech exclusive 24/7 battery back-up system keeps dog safely in the yard, even if the power goes out. Audible wire break alarm alerts owner to trouble with the fence.
1) Rechargeable micro-size collar
2) FasTrak Pre-Twisted Wire
3) Transmitter range up to 25 acres
4) 500′ feet 20-gauge wire included
5) 24/7 Built-in battery backups
6) External lightning protection
Wire:

The system will operate properly even if wire is above ground. Although Innotech recommends that the wire be buried approximately 3 inches to prevent damage to the wire.
Transmitter:
Emits radio signal as pet approaches prohibited area. Transmitter is CS-16000 hand held transmitter.

Innoteck has launched the following models for pet containment system:
1. SD-2100
2. SD-2200
3. SD-2000
4. SD-3000
5. SD-3100

But remember any system you can have but training of dog respect boundary is very important. Training can effectively correct unwanted behavior, as well as establish proper behavior.

Technology has caught up with man’s best friend also. In our relentless quest for doing things better, man has found a new way of containment of his best friend. The radio dog fence is a method of tracking and controlling the movement of your pet even when you are not around to monitor him.

How does the radio fence work

There are two parts to an electric dog fence: a wire that is buried along the perimeter of the defined boundary area and a pet-collar with a receiver. A battery operated radio device connects the movement of the dog with the geography defined.

The signal is transmitted through the wire along the boundary to the receiver on the collar every time the dog approaches of tries to cross the set boundary. The maximum distance across which the signal can be set is a about 15 feet. Normally, it is 4-7 feet distance that is used for training the dogs. The moment the dog is near to the wire, the receiver sounds an alarm beep. Should the dog continue on his path, and try to cross the boundary earmarked, i.e. the wire, he gets a small or a mild corrective electric shock. This electric shock is a very mild one, but it still gives the hint to the pet.

This system is a good way to train your dog, remotely. Over a period of use, the pet automatically understands the boundary limits and with or without the collar, it will not cross the boundary, once trained. The area that this device covers is about 2 acres.

Radio dog fences are freely available in most pet shops in the neighborhood or one may also get these online. Apart from dogs, these can also be used to train other pets as cats. Most manufacturers offer two basic types of radio dog fences. The basic type, which may be used for dogs that are 5 pounds or more and are not so stubborn in nature. Then there are radio dog fences also, for those hard nuts to crack. The stubborn dogs can also be handled by another version of the radio dog fence. There are 5 levels of adjustable correction levels in any type of radio fence. These can be adjusted to match the response of the dog., with level 1 representing a lower correction and level 5 , the higher.

Advantages of Radio dog fences
1) If keeping your pets from straying is the main reason for you to have a fence, even though it might block the view, the radio dog fence is an excellent option.
2) Since there is no fencing that will come up, you need not worry about zoning laws and regulations that come into effect while dealing with physical fences.

Disadvantages of radio fences
1) The radio fence will definitely keep your pets in check, but it won’t stop intruders from coming inside your area.
2) Radio fences are not foolproof, that means the dog might still choose to ignore the mild shock and run away, if the incentive to escape is stronger.

All said and done, the radio fence still serves its purpose of remote control on the pet and is widely used.

Necessity of a dog fence

In every neighborhood there will be a dog whose owners allow him to roam at liberty. He regularly knocks over trash cans, defecates in the yard across the street, and has two times attacked the dog two doors down. The training of one’s dog in his own front yard is not possible without this dog harassing me, and he constantly teases my dogs in their fenced yard. Nearly every state has leash laws or dog containment laws. Owners often run the risk of a mention if the dog warden arrests their dog, and they are liable for any damage the dog may cause on his excursions. If it becomes monotonous to walk the dog every time he needs relief, some owners tie their pet in the yard. It places them at risk of strangulation from the rope or chain and grievance in a fight with another trespassing dog. The Innotek dog fencing one of the most popular dog fences available in market. The old adage Good fences make good neighbors is in particular applicable when the neighbors own dogs. There are a lot of fencing systems available to satisfy personal needs over and above zoning and esthetic requirements.

In continuation with the development of dog fence that need no physical fence construction, the Wireless dog fence is a revolutionary new idea. This is a development of the underground wire fences where a wire had to be buried under the ground for about 2 inches, all along the boundary. The wireless dog fence is a system which is quite similar, but sans the wire.

Wireless systems use a transmitter, which covers the area around the property as per the settings given to it. One can easily programme the transmitter for distance. A signal can now be radioed around the property. The dog collar is also a lightweight receiver that listens to the radio signal .While it is receiving the signal; the dog is free to run and play. Just as the dog approaches the boundary area, the collar receives a warning beep. If the dog continues to challenge the wireless dog fence, it receives a light electric shock, which can be startling but not harmful. With some repetition and training, the dog learns and understands the boundaries, which it is supposed to adhere to. Setting the boundaries takes only a few minutes. Simply adjust the range setting on the transmitter, from a radius of just a few feet – up to 90 feet. The wireless fence, true to its name, needs no unattractive poles to set up and no wires to bury in the yard.

Setting it up:

It takes a very little time to set up the wireless dog fence. The transmitter needs a 110 V connection. It can be located at any discreet location in the house . The signals can easily flow across walls and furniture without any problems.

Maintenance and availability:

The maintenance is very little and all one needs to do is keep the batteries in good state and replace at scheduled intervals, mostly 2-3 months. The wireless dog fence has eased the fencing task even further after the underground fences made it simpler. There are a variety of products in the market and one can check the net for product specifications and prices of each type before finalizing one.

Does your dog give you the slip??

All of we pet owners have faced this situation of looking around the neighborhood for our pet or calling out of the widow trying to find our family dog who gave us the slip, yet again.

Its high time to look for a better dog control system and the underground fence is exactly one such device. There are many reasons for using this type of pet containment system, including health and reproductive issues, housing covenants besides being a good and responsible neighbors. There are conventional fences around the homes, like wooden, aluminium or wrought iron ones, but the underground dog fence is a popular new choice of many a home.

Origin
The underground dog fence is a blend of training, technology, and electronics. To trace the history of the underground fence would be a bit difficult, however, available estimates point to the first such fences being seen sometime in the 1970’s. Over the years many manufacturers and brands have come up and every brand of underground dog fence has its own history and interesting background. What started off as a mere tool for protection of pets, has now become a wildly popular system for dog training as well. The big companies who manufacture the underground dog fences, toady have an elaborate network of distributors and retailers. Right next to you in your neighborhood also, you can find a few shops selling this equipment. The underground dog fences are approved by the regulatory authorities, looking after animal welfare such as the humane society in US, the ASPCA vets and most veterinary associations.

Working
The underground dog fence works through a network of hardware and software.A transmitter, underground wire and a reciever worn around the dog’s collar are the three components. The transmitter is installed, generally near to the electrical output point. Care has to be taken that the area is dry. This transmitter connects to the underground wire by sending signals. More than one dog can also be controlled by the underground dog fence. An insulated wire is laid along the specified boundary. It makes sense to earmark this boundary on the ground by some paint so that in future need for any change, it becomes easy to find. The wire should be buried about 2 inches below the ground. All areas where you do not want the pet to go, can be enclosed, e.g. swimming pools, gardens etc.The receiver, worn around the dog’s collar runs on a 6 volt battery. The average life of the battery is about 3 months.Signals are transmitted by the transmitter through the wire, to the receiver in the dog’s collar when the dog comes close to the wire .The initial signal is a beep and should the pet come any closer, it gets a mild shock. This dissuades the dog from continuing. One can have different intensities of this shock depending upon the nature of the dog.Over a period of time, the dog learns , not to cross these invisible boundaries.

Limitations
What the underground fence lacks in keeping out unwanted visitors. It may also allow some people to violate privacy, which is not the case with structured fences.

To keep dog straying from the limits of your property or from reaching the prohibited area in house, dog fence is needed. Traditionally dogs were restricted in kennel, which were physical barriers, or through chain. A different method of invisible restricting has come up where kennel cannot be seen. These new fences often come as underground fences and wireless fences, and use Audible warnings, correction stimulants or a combination of both techniques to prevent dog from crossing the decided limit. Invisible dog fences does not make it physically impossible for the dog to cross the barrier but it does reduce the chances that the dog will cross the barrier as it gives warning. The real charm of the invisible dog fence is that it will not restrict human from moving about.

Types of Warning System:

1) Audible Correction: This system use audible reminder or correction, which tells pet not to cross the boundary.
2) Vibrations: Some systems use vibrations as reminders to keep the pet off limits.
3) Spray citronella: A few of them use citronella spray. Smell of this spray tells dogs to keep away from boundary.
4) Electronic pulse: They emit electronic pulse if pets try to cross the invisible plain. Pets will get a shock strong enough not to do it again, but not strong enough to injure them.

Training of Pet:

Theses invisible system requires you’re dog to wear some type of receiver on their collar and require training of the dog to respect the boundary. The system is more of a Pavlovian teaching system than a punishment tool. It restricts dog’s movement by issuing warning. Your dog needs to be trained to respect these warnings. For training your pet set up small flags along the boundary and with the dog on leash walk to the edge of the boundary. While the dog still on leash shake the flag and give the dog the warning, which he/she is, suppose to receive if they cross the boundary. It should be repeated several times a day for about a week or alternatively 10 minutes twice a day for 2 weeks to train your dog. This will teach the pet that they will receive a warning as they approach the flags. Once a warning is issued he or she is not suppose to cross the boundary, as now you understand training is the key.

Training can effectively correct unwanted behavior, as well as establish proper behavior. And you will be the proud owner of a well-behaved pet.

Dog Containment System is a highly effective way to keep your pet dogs safe. It helps you to keep your dog away from the boundaries you set up. It is very cost effective .You don’t have to worry about chains, bulky fences, poles etc. A little training has to be given to your pet before carrying out this process. With the help of this you can allow your dog to freely play around and also you can relax. Stubborn Dog Fence is recommended for dogs that are bigger in size and are hard to train and are stubborn. The weight of the dog has to be over30 pounds. It is used on dogs that are not sensitive to correction because of the thick skin or thick fur. Some of these breeds are, Shepherds, Akitas, Labs etc

Procedure of the Stubborn Dog Fence:

Radio Fence Containment System is specially designed for stubborn dogs. Some dogs are very hard to train therefore this effective method is used. It is reliable and safe and gives you peace of mind as your dog plays freely. It has five level corrections in the warning area. The fifth level is 25%extra powerful as compared.

1) Level one warns with vibration that is mild and useful for timid dogs.
2) Level two till level four are on the average pets.
3) Level five is for very stubborn dogs that are very hard to train. The correction level increases as and how your pet behaves.

A transmitter has to be plugged in at a convenient place. This emits radio signals that travel through the underground wire which are placed along the boundaries that you set. A lightweight collar worn by the dog receives the radio signals. They warn him against the set boundaries. As he approaches these boundaries he receives a warning beep. If he continues to go near these boundaries he receives a static feeling that is startling but harmless. This will discourage him from going close to the boundaries.

The signal can be adjusted till 15 feet from the wire. The boundary wire has to be buried 1-2inches deep. You can do it artistically by covering your flowerbeds, shrubs, garden and even your pool.

Stubborn Dog Fence Features:

1) Five Level programmed for correction. Plus a vibration feature for warning.
2) Ideal for very stubborn dogs.
3) Ideal for yards up to sizes of 25acres.
4) If the wire breaks there is an audio alarm.
5) The receiver that is the collar worn by the dog is waterproof.
6) Safety features help against false alarms and extra protection against storm prone areas.
7) The manual and the VCD is very easy to follow. Correction is done until the dog leaves the boundary area.

This fence is specially designed to protect your dog from any danger in his play area. Smart Dog Fence is an advance technology, which is designed to keep your pet dog away from problem areas within and around the house. Like in other portable fences your dog requires training in this fence the training is not required. This is an ideal product for people who want obedience from their dog at the click of a button. You no more have to worry about wires, unsightly fences, transmitters, which can make your home surrounding, look untidy. Smart Dog fences consist for a wire, which is buried and neatly connected to an indoor radio transmitter. Thus the safety and security for your dog is all in your hands very conveniently. This will give freedom to your dog to move around and also peace of mind to you. In the house also there are many items you would not like your dog to touch or sniff. The smart Dog fence is just the perfect choice to keep your dog away from all the important things at home.

How it Works?

The indoor Dog Fence is a latest. They contain contentment zones that prevent the dog from going in certain forbidden areas. There are many such things in the house that you would not want your dog to touch. Such as Dining Room, Dustbin, Kitchen, Table, Furniture etc. Just select the zones you would like to protect .Set the zone protection area from 1-10feet in diameter. Fit the collar onto the dog and just enjoy .The dogs collar will work with multiple zones.

Smart Dog In ground Fence: This is a new concept in the technology of fences .The way this process is carried out is slightly different. This consists of a buried yard wire connected to a radio transmitter indoor. The dog is free to play as long as he receives the signal. A collar is worn around the neck of the dog to receive these signals. But as he approaches close to the signal areas the collar will start to beep thus discouraging the dog to go near that place. There are many such places outdoor which the dog should avoid like pools, garden, flowerbeds etc. Thus this concept will allow your dog a safe play zone and also allow you to relax.

Installation:

Installation is a very easy process and can be done with the help any tool in the house. The boundary wire has to be buried 1-2inches deep. Once the boundary wire is installed and the transmitter is switched on the system is ready. Radio signals are emitted by the wire and are received by the collar worn by the dog. Stimulation occurs if the dog does not stay away from the restricted area. This will prevent him to enter that area.

Setting up the wire only takes minutes. The transmitter can be placed in a convenient place in the home so as to transmit reliably through walls or other obstruction. There you are ready with your Smart Dog Fence.

Some dog fences use an audible correction as the dog approaches the fence to serve as a reminder that the boundary should not be crossed. Other receivers vibrate or spray citronella as a reminder.

Traditionally Dogs are kept in Kennels. These were outdoor fences. Kennels or fences are made from wood. Wood kennels are attractive and comfortable for dogs. Wood fences vary in styles and include stockade, picket, lattice, and post and rail. In spite of different styles of wooden fences all of them have three basic features, which is required for building a fence.

Common Features:
1) Post
2) Rails
3) Panels

Posts: Vertical element rooted firmly in the earth. Properly set posts will hold all the other components in place. They are the foundation wooden fences. Posts can be as high as the required height of fence or can be set higher for the sake of style.

Rails: Rails connect one post to the next. Rails are your horizontal components parallel to the ground. Panels will be attached to rails.

Panels (boards): The panels are the walls wooden fences of privacy type. In open wooden fence styles, such as the post and rail, there are no panels requiring less wooden blocks to build. In picket and the stockade style of wooden fence, panels are vertical components. Each of the unique fence design is due to its shape, especially at the top (e.g., some panels terminate in a point).

Indoors Kennel:

It is useful to have a kennel inside the house. Not only outer boundaries but also pets do require indoor boundaries, too. The indoor fence is the new innovation in dog fences. The indoor fence can

1. Keep dogs out of the trash
2. Restrict pets to kitchen
3. Stop pets from escaping outdoors
4. Keeps baby’s room protected
5. Keep off pet from furniture

This is how you can build a kennel inside
1. Determine the height and length of the fence. It can be 28 inches or more tall.
2. Mark boards accordingly for pickets, then cut them with a saw.
3. Then sand the edges smooth and round off the corners.
4. Round off the tops of the pickets.
5. Fasten pickets to the horizontal rails
6. Paint if needed.
7. Connect the sides of the fence with a 1-inch utility hinge to allow easy moving around.

A most important source of problems and complaints for every one wood finishes is over application of the coating. Many do it yourselfers and some painting contractors consider that when it comes to staining, more is better. This is simply not the case and is mainly a problem for decks. The majority of deck finishes are designed to penetrate the facade of the wood. Putting too much of these coatings on the wood leads to a buildup of material, forming a film which can in the end peel or crack. For water repellant products, over application can effect in a shell which is overly waxy, sticky, or slick. Over applied stains will over and over again result in sticky surfaces, since the coating buildup interferes with their capability to dry properly.

Surface Preparation for staining a wood deck

Proper surface preparation is a significant factor in the eventual performance of coatings for pressure-treated wood or any wood surface. Surfaces are supposed to be clean, dry, and free of mildew previous to coatings are applied.

Stain Application Guidelines:

Earlier to use, mix all cans mutually to insure uniform color. Even though you are using a standard factory mixed color you should not get rid of this step. You need to be assured that you are starting out with the same color and even factory mixed colors can be different from batch to batch. Get an empty 5 gallon pail and put in up to 4 gallons of stain. Mix systematically using a long 3′ or so 1″ x 2″ or mixing paddle. Regularly stir during application. As soon as you get down to the one to two gallon level add another gallon if you are using a large amount for the entire job. By adding new material at intervals like this little color differences will not be noticed if there is a small dissimilarity in color between batches. Prior to applying stain, test on a sample piece of wood from your deck or in an out of the way place, to confirm the color and look you want.

Fencing the Kennel

Eight-year-old Rusty McClean was very worried. Every time he played ball in the backyard, he would end up hurting tiny Dufus. Dufus is a Dachshund. He keeps to himself most of the time. He loves to watch Rusty play ball. Of late though he’s noticed that Rusty’s aim has gotten a little better. And the target seems to him – Dufus!

Rusty realizes that Dufus loves to see him play ball. So he takes the problem to his mother. She is quick enough to understand that probably Dufus needs a kennel fence. She asks Rusty to find out about the types of kennel fences available and they could get one for Dufus.

Rusty’s Research

Rusty realizes that though a fence is a good idea it should not smother Dufus’ freedom nor give him a sense of being caged. Dufus has been used to freedom and may feel depressed at being caged! The difference, Rusty realized to not make him feel caged.

Types of Kennel Fences

A kennel fence could be made of a steel mesh with small rectangles or wide rectangles. Each could be used based on the space available, the kind of dog, and the behavior of the dog. Since Dufus is a small dog it would help if the mesh has wide rectangles. For larger dogs, a steel mesh with smaller rectangles not just allows for visibility but also sturdy support.

Tips for Safety

Here are a few safety tips you should remember if you choose to put a kennel fence:
1) Rust can cause a lot of problem to not just the fence, your dog, but to you too. It would be a good idea to spray some rust-proof material on the fence. Better still these days you get fences with rust-proof finishes.
2) Take care of the edges of the fences. Dogs have a habit at nibbling at things if they are bored. Take care that the edges are blunted out and are not sharp. You could also put weather-proof tape around the edges to protect your dogs.
3) Ground the fence firmly. Sometimes in anxiety your dog is likely to rip or pull at some fastenings. Take care that all fastenings are firmly grounded.
4) To clean the kennel fence try not to use the material that could affect the galvanized material of the fence.

Finally, Rusty got his wish and so did Dufus. Now, while Rusty plays… Dufus keeps a good eye on him without getting hurt at all.

Not only outer boundaries but also pets do require indoor boundaries, too. The indoor radio fence is the new innovation in dog fences. The indoor fence can

1. Keep dogs out of the trash
2. Restrict pets to kitchen
3. Stop pets from escaping outdoors
4. Keeps baby’s room protected
5. Keep off pet from furniture
There are 2 parts to an Indoor Pet Fencing system:

1. The Transmitter: This plugs into a standard outlet and emits a radio signal.

2. The Collar Receiver: The receiver is worn on your dog’s collar. The transmitter emits a radio signal; the receiver on your dog’s collar picks up the radio signal and alerts the dog as he nears the boundary. If the dog continues toward the boundary he will receive a correction from the radio signal.

Making an Indoor Fence:

1. Place the small, disk-shaped transmitter (about the size of a Frisbee) near the area to be protected.
2. Select the area you would like to protect. Protection coverage area between 1′ and 10′ feet in diameter feet.
3. Fit collar with receiver on your dog.
4. When pet gets near the protected area a signal, a warning beep sounds on the receiver.
5. If pet is not trained properly or is stubborn and continues to approach the protected area, a mild correction or electronic impulse is generated.
6. The Indoor Radio Fence can be used for more than one. Each pet needs to wear a separate receiver collar, which can be purchased separately.

A word about collar:
A water-resistant collar receiver can be worn in the rain, snow. However it would be damaged if it is submerged in water. A waterproof collar receiver can be worn when bathing or swimming. Being submerged in water will not harm the collar receiver.
Types of indoor radio fence

The type of indoor radio system to be used will depend on pet.
1. Indoor Radio Fence with Deluxe Ultra light Receiver (IRF-300D) for any dog that is 5 pounds or over.
2. The Stubborn Dog Receiver if dog is above 30 pounds or is especially stubborn. It has five levels of correction and vibration in the warning tone.

The mild correction that your dog feels is designed to be undesirable so your dog will avoid it, yet is totally harmless and humane. Warning: Dog must be at least six month old before you can use indoor radio fence.

Contained and Content

Little Toby had no clue why every day he was huddled off to this frightening looking woman down the road. Whine as he might, no one would listen to him.

One day he decided he had enough. That’s when the Clark’s realized something was terribly wrong. Little Toby definitely did not like the place he was shunted off too.

The Clarks had got Toby when he was barely three months old. Now, all of two years, he was resistant to change. He didn’t want to be left in someone else’s house. The Clarks knew they had a problem. Earlier Martha Clark was home and could tend for Toby, but now she had a very exciting job and she didn’t want Toby to suffer either.

Rita Clancy, a neighbor, came to their rescue. She told them about dog containment fences.

What are dog containment fences?

As the name suggest dog containment fences are fences where you can keep your dogs safely, while you are away. And history is witness to the fact that dogs not just live, but come to love their little fences. Aggressive dogs that are hard to train are also recommended dog containment fences.

Containment Laws

Luckily for the Clarks, Toby is not a dog used to creating a nuisance. But there are dogs out there that disrupt the normal lives of people living around. This could be especially difficult for the owner, what with most states having their own containment laws or leash laws. Not only are they liable of a citation but also for damage which the dog may have caused outside the owner’s home.

Tips for Safety

Keep the following aspects in mind before choosing a dog containment fence for your dog:
1) You need to know the weight of your dog.
2) You would need to know the specific height, width and accordingly mark the dimensions.
3) You need to keep in mind the aggression levels of your dog. If your dog is more aggressive, get a fence with high walls and sturdy floorings around the edges.
4) Check where you’d want to keep the containment fence. Ideally, people have the fence in their backyards.
5) Keep the fence away from your clothesline or the pretty bougainvillea.
6) Check the wiring of the containment fence for safety. Your dog is likely to dig if it is in the backyard. Check that the wirings are away from that area.

Containment fences, if managed well, can be a great boon to all dog owners.

Dog Fence Misconceptions:

There are many common misconceptions that are commonly held regarding the use of a dog fence. The most common fence is that the dogs cannot cross the boundary established by the dog fence. Although it is true that with proper training, dogs learn to respect the dog fence and it is very effective. The dog fence does not make it physically impossible for the dog to cross the barrier but it does reduce the chances that the dog will cross the barrier and destroy. One other very common misconception is that the all dog fences emit painful electronic pulses when the dog attempts to cross the boundary. This is also not very true. Some dog fences use an audible correction as the dog approaches the fence to serve as a reminder that the boundary should not be crossed. Other receivers vibrate or spray citronella as a reminder. Although some receivers used with dog fences due emit an electronic pulse, there are other types of dog fences available.

Training a Dog to Respect a Dog Fence:

One of the critical steps in installing a dog fence is to train the dog to respect the fence and not to cross. A dog fence can be very effective if the dog has been properly trained but without this necessary training the dog fence may not provide the protection that you expected for your dog because your dog may not learn to respect the boundaries of the dog fence. One way to train your dog to respect the boundary of the dog fence is to set up small flags along the boundary and walk the dog to the edge of the boundary. During the training period, the dogs should be kept on leash so that you can be in control of the situation and can prevent them from exiting the yard without you there to shake the flags and issue a correction.
