However, the basic operations of both the saws are the same. While buying an old saw be sure to check it for rust or broken teeth. Rusty saws can create problems for sawing cleanly while saws with broken teeth are definitely a bad bargain. If cross cuts are dull, as the old saws can be due to lack of maintenance, they can be sharpened easily enough at home. After buying, you need to take care of your saws by proper storage and handling.
