Countertop:

Countertop is a horizontal platform that is installed above the cabinet and gets a support from them. It can be placed in places like kitchen, and bathroom. They provide an additional workspace. In the kitchen it is place where many things that are related to food preparation can be kept. There are many types of countertops made of different materials like granite, limestone, marble, wood, and synthetic material. The cost of the countertop depends on the type of the material that is used to prepare. There are countertops that are hard and durable and have a long life and some of the countertops that have only a stylish look. The stylish countertops are very expensive and usually have a short life.

Cutting countertop:

Basically countertop cutting is nothing but giving a proper shape to the countertop surface. Without cutting a countertop it is difficult and awkward to handle. This is done using a large stationary saw. Countertop cutting can be done using a circular saw or a jigsaw. Most of the cuts are produced by a circular saw and jig saw finish ups that is close to the wall. The accurate results can be obtained by a circular saw and a shop build jig. A fine-toothed plywood cutting blade should be used to minimize the chipping in the plastic laminate.

Tips for cutting a countertop:

Cutting a countertop is quite easy but the cutter should know and follow some of the points.
Before cutting a masking tape should be laid over the cutting line. This protects the surface and helps to prevent chipping. Additional strips of tape can be applied on the countertop where the saw base has maximum movements. This is because there may be a slight chance that the circular base of the saw could scratch the countertop. The circular saw that is used to cut the countertop should have at least 40 teeth to give a clean cut. The saw blade depth should be set. It helps to cut through the thicker parts of the countertop. At the last a moderated metal file is used to cleanup the work.
