In most households the greatest financial burden is because of the utility bills. Combining bills of electricity, telephone, gasoline and water, the resultant amount eats up almost half of the total household income. Hence, it is a better idea if most home owners have low or medium flow taps installed in their homes. This way they would use only that much water that is necessary and prevent any wastage.

With low flow water instruments, even if the taps remain on or the garden hose is used greatly, the usage does not reflect so much. Since, the usage is lower, even the water meter moves slowly and the bill generated is comparatively lower. The individual has to shell out a certain fixed amount as water charges or water tax. However, the rest of the amount can be made to increase or decrease depending upon the instruments used. This emphasizes the need for low flow water instruments in households. The fact that it serves two very vital purposes is like a win-win situation for the people.
