Reel Lawn mowers can cut lawns shorter than Rotary Lawn mowers because of their shearing action hence they are used on golf courses. This happens due to the sheering action of the reel that cuts the grass evenly. They also leave finer grass clippings than ordinary rotary mowers. Rotary lawn mowers are easier to use on long grass but the effect is not so good as reel lawn mowers.
