Tiki Huts
Tiki huts are basically referred as restaurants having the theme or concept of Tiki. They are usually found near beaches or in tourist spots. A Tiki hut in an island having tourist facilities is an ultimate fascination and desire. Earlier the beach side restaurants were having all the things for all the people. The menu still has the blend of most cuisines liked by variety of people. But now the concept of Tiki has been added to the restaurants or food joints and they are now Tiki huts. This is of course on the lines of Tiki Bar. Tiki huts provide place and comfort to a large group as well as a couple finding solace. It is a place for fun dining.
Building a Tiki Hut
For building a Tiki hut, first of all, the frame for the hut needs to be built. Then some short and long bamboos are required. Taller ones are fitted in back and shorter bamboo poles go in the front. This will create a slope for the roof. Fix nuts and bolts in bamboos by drilling to attach it to roof. To provide stability to the Tiki hut place the bamboo poles in some buckets. The buckets should be painted in fun Caribbean style. Fit a cutting of foam core to top of the hut. It is a light weight product which can be used in place of wood. Tropical designs should be painted by using craft paint onto the grass mats. Fun party lights around the frame of hut will provide exotic tropical feel. Bright colored table cloth should be placed over the tables to light up luminosity.
Giving an authentic look
One's own ideas can be used to make the Tiki hut exactly feel like Pacific Blues. For example, wood can be used instead of bamboo poles. The reason of using bamboo poles is to provide an authentic look. Similarly instead of palm panels for the roof, bamboo shades or hula skirts can be used. The idea is to make the Tiki hut authentic and drag it closer to the effect of huts in South Seas.
