Wingback Slipcovers

A slipcover simply denotes easily removable fabric wrapping for a couch or chair. Alternatively, it can be termed as a removable fitted cloth covering for furniture or other upholstered items. Often called loose cover, it is a fitted protective cover that can be slipped off and on an upholstered furniture item.

Custom wingback chairs include a specially tailored body cover and separate covers for loose back and seat cushions. Furniture can have any number of back and seat cushions, including pillow back styles. In case of attached back cushions, the body of the slipcover will go over the cushion. Often a slipcover design includes a flap that covers the seat deck, the area under the cushions. It can also be pulled back to allow pulling out the bed without removing the body cover. Online stores offer a huge selection of fabrics for making slipcovers, for example, simple cotton ducks, chenille, and floral. Their pricing includes separate covers for all loose seat and back cushions or pillows. It is also based on the length of furniture, number of loose cushions, fabric, and skirt style. 100 per cent cotton slipcovers are available for wingback chairs. These slipcovers are soft, durable, and available in stone blue, light khaki, natural colors. Some covers have arms and straight skirts, with bowties and are machine washable. Some slipcovers fit right over wing back furniture, and they have elastic bands for a better fit. Others have special expandable blend, allowing the material to stretch and recover where needed.

Cleaning slipcovers

Most of the slipcovers are kid friendly and washable. It is always better to wash them properly, so that they can last a long time and look new. It is recommended to vacuum slipcovers while on furniture. And it is better to shake them outdoors after removing. They can be washed with warm water and laundry detergent. It is advisable to use soak cycle before wash cycle to remove extra soil and to use cold rinse. Do not let them spin for a long time. Also make sure not to use furniture until the slipcover is completely dry. Some slipcovers are dry clean only.
