Wood Deck Sidewalks
What is a sidewalk?
The path that is usually constructed of concrete, asphalt, brick or stone, designed for pedestrian traffic running along side the road. It is called a sidewalk in US English and a pavement or footpath in British English.
About Wood Deck -
A deck is a common addition in the extension of homes. Designing and constructing a deck is fairly simple.
To begin with, a design of the deck has to be sketched. Decks can be constructed as free standing structures; however, they can also be attached directly to the fame of the house. The parts for deck construction are available at home improvement stores. A deck can be constructed using a combination of deck boards, deck posts, joists and beams.
A wood deck in a home requires proper maintenance as it is constantly exposed to the harsh weather conditions that may affect its strength and durability. It needs sanding, resealing and painting to maintain the new look over a period of time. Even though treated wood is resistant to moisture and insects, these elements still attack and most of the woods begin to rot over time.
Wood Deck Sidewalk -
A wood deck has a range of accessories like benches, planters, privacy fences, railing, gates, skirting, trap doors, sidewalks and flooring patterns.
A deck sidewalk is one of the accessories of the wood deck.
Cleaning of a deck sidewalk -
Clean and well maintained deck and sidewalks are always appreciated. It is the responsibility of the property owner; however, there are few private firms that provide sidewalk cleaning and other related services. Such services include – Sidewalk sweeping and cleaning, removing posters from the poles, removing graffiti and pressure washing of sidewalks.
Benefits of Sidewalk Cleaning -
The overall look of the area improves.
A higher level of cleanliness can be maintained than what is provided by the city.
The district would have more options and control over the kind of services you would receive form them in future.
Challenges of sidewalk cleaning -
Someone has to select and supervise the contractor, and also resolve complaints from neighbors about noise of blowers, etc.
